Teaching modern english in distance education

Abstract

The article focuses on the description of the peculiarities of English language teaching on
the subject Modern English in higher educational institutions during the Pandemic 2020.
Mutual understanding is an important factor of our country’s survival in connection with
economic crises connected with the pandemic COVID 19. The orientation of modern methods of
teaching foreign languages to the real conditions of communication is vital. The final result of
teaching Modern English is aimed not only at language competence, but for successful
communication and mutual understanding.
The aim of the article is to reveal the existing problems of modern education system and
teaching English in new reality. The article suggests the progressive ways of learning Modern
English in the conditions of distance education.
The use of modern information technologies, participation in international conferences
and seminars improves professional training of both students and teachers.
Distance learning is widely spread nowadays in many universities and institutions of
higher education in Ukraine. The article deals with the problem of distance learning and the
possibility of solving it with the help of modern technologies, the use of which allows giving the
convenience and flexibility of remote work.
The results of the research can serve as a basis for further study of the peculiarities of
English language teaching on the subject Modern English in higher educational institutions.
